Another faultless stay at The Blue Mantle. Hosts were welcoming and friendly. Room was perfect: quiet and cosy, very clean, generous shower room. Full English breakfast was excellent - high quality food cooked and served by Andrew. Parking just outside made everything easy.

the room was lovely. the bed was super comfy. I'd missed dinner by half an hour and the host offered to give me her dinner. but I couldn't do that to her so she suggested a nice takeaway and let me eat it in the dining room. lots of dogs and the bar had a great atmosphere. nice real ales straight from the barrel. shower took some layers of skin off, powerful and warm. the room was just right, very spacious. just a nice place with character.

What a hidden little gem!
Hosts Danusha and Dave are very welcoming and offered great local advice and showed us around the lodge.
Apple-tree lodge is very comfy with fantastic decor and all you need for a stay. It is ideally located for easy access to the Quantocks and the town of Taunton and wider Somerset.

For those on a budget, these cheap and cheerful hotels still have a lot to offer, with most offering WiFi and convenient locations. Popular with backpackers, many properties can be found in central locations and include comfortable rooms with private or shared bathrooms. You’ll also find a number of options which feature a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage.
Very warm and friendly welcome, overall very clean and good selection of drinks available at the bar. The room was clean and the bed was very soft and comfortable. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and a good selection of cereals & jams etc. Plenty of parking found at the back of the pub.
The rooms were very clean with all essentials, including bottled water, tea and snacks. We were very pleasantly surprised and the staff were extremely friendly. Breakfast was included and the staff accommodated my request for gluten free toast. I enjoyed the mushroom, scrambled egg and sausage. The owner took the time to tell us a bit about himself, learn a bit about us, and find some common ground.
A comfortable quiet little pub to stay in. Landlord very friendly , lovely breakfast. Ideal location if going to Vivary park to a concert and don't want to drive far.
Patrick the landlord and the staff were all so nice and welcoming during our stay. Breakfast was great and I really recommend booking for Sunday lunch which was delicious. Location was good for getting into Taunton which is about a 40 minute walk. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back!
