Within 15 minutes’ drive of 4 of the Isle of Islay’s whisky distilleries, Skerrols House has uninterrupted countryside views and is just a 5-minute drive from the coastal village of Bridgend.

The host Thomas was extremely service minded and served us coffe and cakes when we arrived. Very good beakfast ! (I took an omelette and fresh berries and espresso) A cosy living room to share with other gests.

The Islay Hotel is a great location for shops, eating out, distilleries and beaches. We found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. Our room was spotlessly clean and well organized. The breakfast was a very good start to our day. In addition to the hotel, we recommend the café at Ardbeg distillery for lunches and teas. On the road to Bowmore (on the right-hand side) is the Balaclava Byre Farm Shop and Restaurant, which also provides delicious food, using local produce from Islay.
Excellent location overlooking the bay, wonderful view from the window. Very clean and comfortable. Parking directly outside. CoOp 2 mins away if needed. Great Chinese also very close. Imagine would be very busy in the summer.
We stayed 5 nights at the Trout Fly Guest House and cannot rate it highly enough on all counts. Accommodation was spotlessly clean throughout and our room was so comfortable and cosy. Breakfasts were superb. Top quality ingredients freshly prepared, tasty and so well presented. Location was also ideal for touring the whole Island. Niall was just a brilliant host and made us so welcome. First class, great value for money and highly recommended.
