A real privilege to stay in a wonderful location with such a welcoming host. The house is so tastefully furnished, comfortable and full of charm. The breakfast table was beautifully laid out which made the excellent and generous breakfast such a pleasure. This was our second visit and we hope to return.

Lovely B&B, beautifully decorated, good-sized rooms with en-suite. The breakfast was great (although served from 8 am onward), and the staff friendly and helpful. It is not a hotel, so the rooms are not cleaned during your stay (I stayed 4 nights). The location is great, within walking distance from the station and the city centre.
The Old Post Office offers a pleasant village setting just 20 minutes’ drive from the historic city of Durham.

The location was great close to Beamish and still very rural so fantastic for the children to be safe to play.
The owners were very friendly and accommodating and the property was large and comfortable.
Location - enjoyed being in countryside and on a working farm. Able to drive to park and ride and get bus into Durham. Had to get some help with a couple of items, but these were dealt with well. Friendly welcome and follow up.
The friendly contact with the owners. The peaceful location and the scenery. The demonstration of the sheep with the sheepdog by the owner. It was very clean in The Hen House and also lovely and warm inside.
Location was perfect for our needs. Accommodation was dog friendly with just a small one off charge, not per night unlike others we had viewed. Having a back door onto a courtyard was ideal for letting dog out in morning, particularly as there was often chickens out the front. The welcome bottle of wine was appreciated. Plenty of HOT water and very roomy shower room.
