Our room was compact but very comfortable with an excellent quality bathroom. We ate in the restaurant each night and were extremely pleased with the quality and pricing of the menu. Breakfast was also excellent.

The cooked breakfast was fine, and quickly served. The lunchtime and evening menus offered a good variety. I had a lovely lunch at a table overlooking the sea. There was a problem with the evening meal, but I was offered a partial refund. All of the staff were friendly, and one member of staff carried my heavy case up to my room. The decor was classic. Everywhere looked spotlessly clean. The location is ideal, on the coast road overlooking the sea and close to a bus stop.

For those on a budget, these cheap and cheerful hotels still have a lot to offer, with most offering WiFi and convenient locations. Popular with backpackers, many properties can be found in central locations and include comfortable rooms with private or shared bathrooms. You’ll also find a number of options which feature a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage.
The location of the hotel was perfect for my purposes, a leisurely cycle tour around Arran, but the setting of the inn is lovely, it feels secluded, with a river running close by, a lush garden to while the time away.
My single room was small but the bathroom had a bathtub which was very welcome and everything was spotlessly clean.
I enjoyed a few pints from the public bar in the sunshine outside and I had an excellent burger from the restaurant for dinner.
All in all, this was a very pleasant stay!
The location was just as expected very peaceful and relaxing with a good pub close by, good walks along the coast and the whisky distillery is not to far.
The Lagg is a lovely building in beautiful surroundings where staff are very nice and attentive. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The restaurant had a variety of options, including good vegan options. What capped it all off was the gorgeous resident dog.
The staff were super friendly and welcoming. Beer was excellent. Bed was comfortable. Location was quiet until the peacock (?) started saying hello in the morning. (I needed an early alarm call anyway).
Ideal location for visiting the new Lagg distillery. Room most comfortable and the garden room/guest lounge a bonus. Breakfast was slick and very tasty.
