Joanne met us when we arrived and gave us a tour of the house to show us where everything is and she explained how the heating works etc. Her and Dale live and work on the farm so are close at hand. We found them to be a very friendly couple and the farm is very efficiently run and kept very clean! The surroundings are idyllic and we regularly saw squirrels, pheasants and deer. My husband was delighted at the conkers we collected too! Howden is close by and it's a charming friendly town which we fell in love with. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the various day trips to Beverley (Saturday market) Scarborough, Bridlington and Goole. Thank you Joanne and Dale for your hospitality. I've been staying here frequently as I work nearby and so far I've been impressed with the Bowmans. Prices are very reasonable for a double room and the quality of the bed and furnishings is very high. The location is essentially right in the middle of Howden next to everything, with a convenience store opposite which is great for picking up a sandwich in the morning before work. Downstairs is a pub that shows Sky Sports and serves drinks until late which is great if you're into that.
