Situated in the heart of rural Oxfordshire, in picturesque Dorchester, The George Hotel, Dorchester-on-Thames, Oxfordshire is one of Britain’s oldest coaching inns. The inn offers hearty breakfasts and a traditional restaurant.

With beautiful exposed beams and inglenook fireplaces, The George is rich in historical character and charm. The building dates from the 15th century, and has leafy gardens and free parking.

The rooms have been newly renovated and are fantastic and very clean. The cooked breakfast is amazing. The staff (night supervisor, breakfast service, reception) are all very friendly and helpful. I will be coming back.

Stayed there so that I could watch a friend's play. The place offered a lot more than what my partner and I expected, the staff were lovely and attentive (one of them even ran out to me on the street to hand me a couple of items I forgot), the place was also very clean and everything felt high quality. The bar and restaurant are also very inviting and cosy and the food was great. The location was well-placed in a picturesque village with a co-op nearby.

A lovely old hotel with lots of character. We thought the location was stunning in a pretty little village with a beautiful church opposite the hotel. The rooms were very clean, spacious and comfortable. The food was good with a nice full english breakfast. We also enjoyed our evening meal there which was very good, but thought it was a bit on the expensive side for what we ordered. The staff at the hotel and bar were all really friendly and helpful. Overall it was very good and I would recommend this hotel and even stay there again.
