The Langford Inn, hotel in Butcombe

Adjacent to The Langford Inn are en suite bedrooms housed in 2 converted 17th-century barns with exposed beams, original brickwork, oak floors and luxuries for modern living.

Our flight from Bristol Airport was around midday so we travelled from Cornwall and spent the night before here. We were welcomed warmly on arrival and later in the early evening we were given complimentary welcoming glass of wine. The room was comfortable with well thought out facilities. Parking was free and near the room (our room was just across the courtyard but there were other rooms in the main building). We reserved a table for dinner later that evening and the food was brilliant and the atmosphere friendly and busy. The staff cannot be faulted. We slept well and the breakfast the next morning was excellent. I realised that our boarding passes had not been printed properly at home and the staff rallied round and helped me to reprint them. Nothing was too much trouble. We shall return.

Fantastic location being not too far out of town but quiet enough to know that you're in the country. Pete & Janet were very friendly and welcoming and the place was immaculate. It is a very tastefully renovated barn and a pleasure to stay there. A very nice touch, especially after travelling from overseas, was there was some milk and eggs in the fridge as well as some cheese and biscuits.
