We stayed over Christmas and it was perfect for us to have our own space and is excellent value for money. Easy to access with an Aldi across the road for us to get everything we needed for our stay. Area wasn't too noisy and property provided us with all the kitchen, bathroom and TV equipment we needed. Hosts were excellent and easy to contact with quick replies to any queries we had. Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Ellens Cottage is an old quaint, small stone cottage in the heart of the Lancashire countryside, yet close enough to get to all the major towns. On our first night we walked with our dogs (1mile) to the Waggon and Horses pub and had a lovely meal. The walk back was in the dark, and it is very dark, so bring a torch. The listing mentions pot holes in the road up to the cottage. They are not bad pot holes at all, I have driven on much worse main roads! It is a lovely cottage in a stunning location and we will hopefully be staying again.
