A La bonne étape is in Sassenay just off the EV6. I spent one comfortable night there while in a cycle tour. The space is clean and had everything I needed, the breakfast was delicious and the hosts are very welcoming. It is a beautiful area and the only downside was the rain while I stayed

Lovely bedroom, very clean, shower and toilet separate, nicely decorated with lots of little touches and bed comfortable.The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast around a big table with other guests ( learnt something about wolves). Perfect Breakfast, lovely croissants, delicious homemade jam and good coffee (which we drank out of huge cups, so very typical french)
A big advantage of course is parking, which is available in the courtyard.
And if you're into sewing/crafting check out the handbags and lots of other interesting items (hairclasps, jewelry and many more) all homemade using beautiful fabrics by the lady of the house at reasonable prices!

The location was excellent, just around the corner from the centre of the historical centre of Chalon sur Saone, easy walking distance to everything the city has to offer. The apartment is exactly how it is presented on the booking site, we especially liked the owner's wall plaque reading "this isn't Versailles".

Just out of the main town. Both Bertrand and Isabelle met me and made me feel very welcome. They organised a dinner reservation and also got up early for my departure. Lovely breakfast and a very comfortable bed. Ideal for a stop to/from the channel tunnel or a longer stay.
Excellent property in a good location. The owners were super helpful and it was clear the place was well run. We had two impressive rooma adjoining through our own private corridor. Superb breakfast was the perfect end to a quick stop over.
Wow! What a fabulous place. The château is gorgeous and has been beautifully renovated. The hosts were absolutely charming. The selection of local beers and wines was impressive, and delicious. Our room was spotless and the bed was ever so comfortable - best night’s sleep in ages!
