A delightful B&B in the heart of the vineyards in Soussans. The property overlooks fields of grapes and is in a quiet location. After a long drive from Spain, We enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing evening in the property's garden.
The room itself is one of the smaller ones we have stayed in on our trip, but it is just delightful and one of our favourites, with a super comfy bed,TV and tea making facilities. (Unusual but beautiful teacups) Exceptionally clean and tidy. The bathroom has everything you need and a lovely shower.
We enjoyed a Continental breakfast (including the most delicious plum jam) outside on the veranda overlooking the swimming pool...which we could also use if we had wanted too.
The owners were a lovely friendly couple who made us feel very welcome and went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay.
I wouldn't hesitate to rebook in the future.
Situated in Margaux in the Aquitaine region, Gîte l'Olivier has a terrace.

A wonderful place to stay. It was spacious and very well equipped. There were lots of useful chattels that made this homely and convenient. The owner had thought of everything; there was even a clothes steamer. We were cycling and this was a delightful place to stop.

Spacious and beautifully located; hosts were charming and helpful.
For those on a budget, these cheap and cheerful hotels still have a lot to offer, with most offering WiFi and convenient locations. Popular with backpackers, many properties can be found in central locations and include comfortable rooms with private or shared bathrooms. You’ll also find a number of options which feature a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage.
The property is in a great location. You can visit other wineries while you are on the left side of the river. It has its own wine tasting tour as well. The wine tour guide Clara (sorry if I missed spell the name) was amazing!!! She was really passionate and knowledgeable.
Beautiful rustic house set in wonderful garden. The host really has an eye for detail and interior design. He also owns the local restaurant which is really very good. Location in the heart of Medoc is pretty wonderful.
The location is nice but you can see that the Chateau is not really up to date with the facilities. No AC. it does need painting and updating and a better breakfast setup. The overall feeling is that the people running the shop and the cellar tours are "forced" to take care of lodging. At Maucaillou they make great wine but for the administration of the hospitality part they should decide to totally separate it or close it altogether to the general public and just market it for special events.
Breakfast was fab, the lady who ran the place was brilliant - very friendly and attentive. Not that we used it but the pool looked stunning. The room was spacious and the area the residents had to themselves lovely, with lots of wine books etc to pore over. Location wise excellent as you are right on the edge of the Medoc wine region so everywhere is within very easy access.
