L'évasion du Coquelicot, hotel in Mesnil-Martinsart

Located in Albert and only 29 km from Amiens Train Station, L'évasion du Coquelicot provides accommodation with city views, free WiFi and free private parking. This apartment offers a garden.

Location literally couldn't have been better - we were just a stone's throw from the Basilica and the Museum of the Somme. The apartment is small, but perfect for two. There's everything you need in the kitchen if you want to make a meal and you can sit out in the garden to eat it if you choose to although there are also stools and a bar top in the kitchen. Large bathroom with two shower options. Combination sitting room and bedroom with sofa and table. Well laid out and amazing value for money. While I am on, can I also recommend the Watteau patisserie at the top of the road and Meli Veloes on Rue Carnoy where we hired a couple of e-bikes to visit the surrounding area.

Pretty house in a quiet, rural location in the heart of the Somme battlefields. The house is well appointed, good sized bedrooms and lots of privacy. Everything was clean, tidy and in good working order. Use of barbecue in the garden was an added bonus as was a kind welcome of a bottle of wine and some cold soft drinks. Our hostess, Nadia, is a delightful lady and a pleasure to meet and talk to her. If you don’t want quaint, quiet and rural, it won’t be for you, but peace and tranquility are in abundance.

The location and the Chateau is idyllic. The hosts were very welcoming despite our late arrival, nothing was too much trouble. Very friendly dog (if you would like to meet him), breakfast was perfect and everything was at our leisure. It was the best night's sleep during our week away. We found it easily. Perfect for an escape to the countryside and perfect for visiting the Somme region. Wouldn't hesitate to book again.
