It was a stunning location and the host was extremely welcoming (but only speaks French unfortunately for me!). It is definitely a 'get there by car' type of place alternatively you could probably hike there with a bit of planning as it is situated in a beautiful forest around a lake.
The room is picturesque and you can see her creative flair which is lovely. Its both cosy and spacious in the room. Our bathroom was upstairs and it was well laid out and had everything you would need. We were also travelling with a medium dog. She welcomed our pet and has two dogs and a cat of her own. We did keep the pets separated but it was all part of the experience of staying in someone else's space. The host ended up making us a surprising and exceptional meal from the veg and herbs in her garden because the only local restaurant was closed (still a drive away). I would also recommend going for her breakfast as she makes all her own jams (also some of her own teas) and the pancakes were very yummy.
All in all it's a quirky place with a fantastic home built design. I was absolutely delighted by the whole experience and have already recommended it!

We were looking for a place to stay after a long road trip and found this little gem on our stop over in St Etienne.
We loved it! Ground floor apartment and free parking virtually outside the property so easy to unload. The place was spotless and spacious. Both bedrooms were a good size and windows/doors open out to a little terrace making the bedrooms airy.
We didn't use the kitchen much as we went out to eat but fully functional. There's a great Pizzeria on the corner, lovely pizzas and quite affordable. The location is very central and ideal for wandering about the city.
Would highly recommend.

This is a great place to stay. Easy access to the railway station, and the local tram station. Easy access to town, either on the tram, or a short walk. Lovely range of restaurants in the area. We loved the balcony and sat out there with a wine often. And there is an elevator! Florian was wonderful to deal with - great communications. Also, we arrived into St Etienne a bit early, and he was happy for us to go straight to the apartment.
