A warm welcome from our hosts who were very patient as we tried out our bit of French. English is spoken so there's no need to try French but we are trying to learn.
It's all super new, clean and attractive. A good place to take a break if travelling to the Channel Ports and Arras and region is, of course, steeped in history.

The room was comfortable and well laid out. The location was good, close to car parking and some good bars and restaurants. Some of the locals can speak some English which helped me with my shamefully poor French.
Located in Arras in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region, Au détour des Places is a 3-star property featuring free WiFi. There is a private entrance at the apartment for the convenience of those who stay.

We stayed just one night, having passed through Calais quite late. This was very central, we managed a couple of beers on the local main square. So location first. The host met us quite easily, and showed us into the parking.
Boasting free bikes and views of inner courtyard, Au Petivall Studio is a holiday home set in a historic building in Achicourt, 21 km from Louvre Lens Museum.
For those on a budget, these cheap and cheerful hotels still have a lot to offer, with most offering WiFi and convenient locations. Popular with backpackers, many properties can be found in central locations and include comfortable rooms with private or shared bathrooms. You’ll also find a number of options which feature a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage.
The bedroom and the bathroom are spacious and very clean. We are a couple but had the triple room at the price for two as nothing left.
The location was okay if you are more concern about a private parking. The bus to Arras city centre takes 30 mins or 11 minutes drive by car.
The Pizzaria next door is very good and have other dishes as well.
Spotlessly clean
Huge room for budget hotel
Breakfast selection good
Location....short drive to motorway but very quiet
Restaurant next door outstanding
A budget hotel a bus ride from Arras. Google maps suggested there was no public transport from it into Arras but there was a bus stop with a frequent service adjacent to the hotel.
They do not have a conventional restaurant but they do provide traditional French meals in Kilner type jars which are microwaved. These are inexpensive and tasty.
The young lady on reception was very helpful.
