We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is located outside of the city of Miranda do Douro which is only 10 to 15 minutes away in the country. It is so peaceful and quiet. Paula is the friendliest hostess and made us feel at home. She prepared the most delicious homecooked dinner for us our first evening. Our room was very cozy and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was huge with a great variety of choices. We enjoyed walking around Miranda do Douro and did a boat ride at the International Biological Station on the Douro River which at that point is between Portugal and Spain. Paula gave us directions to two amazing Miradouros (lookout points) - Miradouro Sao Joao das Arribas (lovely afternoon hike within walking distance of the hotel) and Miradouro Fraga do Puio (incredible view of the Douro River) just outside of the town of Picote (25 minute drive from the hotel). We also had a delicious dinner one evening at Restaurante O Mirandes in Miranda do Douro. Thank you, Paula, for your warm hospitality.

I have to sum it up with quality. It's placed a bit outside the centre of Miranda, and you can feel very connected to nature while keeping a high-level standard of facilities. The breakfast is top-notch, and the staff can help you. Although I was there for a bike race, I will keep this place on my list as a place to spend some vacations.

Very nice hotel. Really clean and big room. Lovely ambience. Breakfast exceptional , wide variety of local products. Not a sweet person, but I have to try local pastries. Really tasty . The owner elderly lady was so cute. Outdoor swimming pool, unfortunately I haven't got time to try..

The hotel was easy to find and had easy parking. There are great views from the bedrooms and the large, panoramic breakfast room. Staff were friendly. Our room - or rather suite - was very light and spacious. Ratio price / quality excellent.

The place is certainly a bit older but well kept clean and proper,nice big room with a good sized bathroom with plenty of hot water and good pressure, breakfast is the usual continental nothing extraordinary but normal with cheese and ham, yogurt, etc

This a lovely place to stay in Miranda do Douro. It is located in a quiet area, just few steps away from the old one, and with a lovely view to the Douro River and the rocks with its mysterious number "2". The breakfast and coffee are delicious and the owners were so kind to pack something for us for our early check-out, when we had to take a 6:30 AM bus. The family running this accommodation is very gentle and hardworking and will be available and keen to share more of the special culture of the Mirandese Plateau.
