This hotel deserves its rating because of the welcome given by the owner. The building itself is beautiful and set in wonderful scenery with views of the Picos mountains and you can walk through the forest trails just behind the hotel. Be aware that the hotel is fairly remote – the nearest bars and restaurants are a twenty-minute drive away. Simple meals are available at the hotel including breakfast, but for something more sophisticated you will have to plan ahead. Our room was fine and comfortable and quite large but the owner had been running the place for less than a year when we stayed there and some details will need a bit of attention over time. The hotel is open throughout the year and we wish the owners every success.

We arrived and asked if there was a private room, and the host put us up in an apartment on an upper floor that wasn't completely done but had everything we needed.

lovely comfortable hotel a few kms off the camino primitivo. we really enjoyed staying here, and took a short taxi ride to get back onto the camino next day.
