The cottage was spacious, great location where I spent 2 nights surrounded by the mountains and had the chance to enjoy Masca Village to its fullest. Traditional character with a few modern elements (big TV+ extra tv in bedroom, spotlights). Comfortable sofa and bed. Welcome bottle of water and red wine. A lot of utensils, pots and pans, washing machine, basically everything you need for spending time indoors. Prompt support from my hosts when I was a bit lost. Easy self check-in. The bus stop is just a few meters away, so easy access (I made a mistake and got off the bus on the next stop, coming from Santiago del Teide). I stayed in Tenerife for 4 weeks and that was the best place I visited and stayed in the island.

The location is really beautiful. We had breakfast and dinner most days on the outside table with vast views of the sun in the gorge and the winding road down to Masca. It's very peaceful and you would have no idea there are tourists visiting the village everyday just down the road. There's a little path you can take from the house down to the centre of the village rather than taking the road. We were so glad we decided to stay here with so much space, rather than in a big hotel. The house had everything we needed - we cooked and also had a BBQ. Everything worked well - showers, kitchen etc. There's a new samsung tv, hairdryer, washing machine, iron, oven, microwave etc. There was also an electric heater as we were there in February when it's cool at night. It's a cosy split-level house in the village, but feels very spacious inside and out. The location is good for accessing the North, and not too far from the airport. We drove to La Laguna and on to Santa Cruz de Tenerife for Carneval (stayed there overnight at a cheap hotel to go walking in Anaga the next day) and then drove back, which was all easy enough. Masca is a nice village, and you see people visiting to enjoy the views, so it's nice to know you're living there. El Guanche is a good restaurant in the village with great views. There's a few parking spots on the top of the road by the house, and then a long bay of parking about 100m further down the hill. The house comes with a free parking sign to put in your car window. We really loved everything and would definitely stay again or bring others here. Thanks Claudia!

We absolutely loved staying in Casa SotoMayor. Frank and his farther were excellent hosts. They showed us around the house and were very accommodating. They left us an amazing, very generous, welcome pack of Canarian fruits, wine, sweets and water, which was hugely appreciated. The house itself is just beautiful - the photos do not do it justice. Rural romance with mod cons. It is lovingly restored with fantastic attention to detail, spotlessly clean and has very generous private space to the back away from the street. We had lots of fresh towels, blankets and linen had we needed anything. Very strong wifi and great tv channels, hot shower with powerful pressure, excellent stove and oven for cooking, very comfortable bed. Fabulous view of mountains. We loved barbecuing in the back yard and relaxing by the fire stove in the living room with our kindles when it got too cold outside. We did not try the pool as we were here in December/January but it was there for us to use should we have braved it. We knew the village of Santiago from our previous visits, the house is in the centre, very easy to find, with private parking at the back. We discovered a lovely loop trail up a mountain and down a nearby farming valley at the back of the house, which we walked twice during our stay. Santiago is at the start of the windy road to Masca and we also drove to the Teide volcano and the historic town of Garachico from here very easily. This place is a dream and we would LOVE to be back! Thank you Frank and Dad for everything.
