For those on a budget, these cheap and cheerful hotels still have a lot to offer, with most offering WiFi and convenient locations. Popular with backpackers, many properties can be found in central locations and include comfortable rooms with private or shared bathrooms. You’ll also find a number of options which feature a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage.
Good location to start hiking from. Next to it restaurant with limited but tasty local food. They can contact you with guides and if you got some good negotiations skills you can get decent price with nice routes in the mountains.
Good accomodation for hiking in st Catherine in particular the Mt. Sinai hike. The host Abu Salem organised our guide for our sunrise hike which was incredible. He also helped us confirm our bus to Cairo the next day which was super helpful. I can also confirm there is a fan in the room which was a relief for us! Overall the place was cheap and cheerful
Staff were always ready to help with information and organising trips. They made everything easy. They chose walking guides who were careful, kind and trustworthy.
Rooms are simple but clean and warm. Hot showers! Food is very good. Location is spectacular.
Thank you everyone for a great stay.
The location of Sinai is why we went there, but it is in the remote desert, so one cannot expect the same as a city, and the people know it, thus one gets taken for more money than normal. At least the owner and staff orginized a guide for the mountain trip, but at a cost.
I very much enjoyed my stay Sheikh Mousa the location is at the far end of town and it is nice and quiet. It is easy to get the Monestary too. At night you can see many stars and it is nice and dark. The hospitality of the Sheikh and the other Bedouin are fantastic they are kind, tea is offered and I felt genuinely welcome. I live in Egypt and will visit again to do walking in the Sinai mountains. Thank you :)
