Better than expected. Trails nearby. Easy parking. Room was very comfortable and updated. During the summer, it was nice to have a fan in the room. We had a great dinner on one night. The host and staff were all very friendly and helpful. We would gladly stay here again.

INCREDIBLE STAY! The hosts were extremely welcoming, kind and helpful. Immaculately clean and comfortable accommodation. A beautifully decorated seating area downstairs where they serve the most delicious breakfast!! In close proximity to many beautiful hikes. Many other good benefits of staying here. Ideal location, not too far from the train station. We started all of our walks from the hotel which was very convenient. Beautiful views from our room. The owners were very polite and friendly. Our breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed a lovely evening meal there also. We will definitely return.
Affordable option in the Appenzell area to access key hikes (Hoher Kasten, Saxer Lücke, Schäfler, Ascher etc). Included breakfast was great and included bread rolls, spreads, ham and cheese, yoghurt, cereal, fruit and coffee. Whole place was very clean and lovely staff.
Great location for hiking in Appenzell. 10 min drive from the main town with restaurants and supermarket. Beautiful views of the mountains. Very clean, and spacious rooms. Continental breakfast was extensive. Loved the homemade bread rolls and wide selection of teas. Would stay again if I hike in that area.
