The weather was bad, so it was difficult to see the location, but what we did see looked amazing. We would like to return. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom excellent. The owners were very kind and offered information about the area and suggested places for dinner as the restaurant is closed on Wednesdays. They even arranged for us to visit a local winery, which was strictly still closed. Breakfast was very good in a good atmosphere as locals came in for their morning coffee. Melanie and Marcello were very good hosts.
For those on a budget, these cheap and cheerful hotels still have a lot to offer, with most offering WiFi and convenient locations. Hotel was basic but very clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I was travelling with dog and there were no dog surcharges and a good dog walk behind the hotel
The place is nicely renovated, the room was clean. Good breakfast and a welcoming host. The location is also perfect, right across from the train station.
Breakfast consisted of a good selection of bread/buns, cheeses and sliced meats. Hard-boiled eggs, cereal, yogurt and fruit made it a full meal. Hotel location is just 15 min. from Bern with good roads and providing good access to other points of our trip: Freiborg, Neuchatel, Lausanne, Interlaken and Lucerne. Room was generally clean. Staff was friendly and helpful.
