Owner's were exceedingly helpful and flexible with our dates after we booked a tour via Voy Tours to visit the Uyuni Salt Flats etc. breakfast was exceedingly good, tea, coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, yoghurt, cereals, pancakes, bread, cheese, ham and spreads as well as fresh fruit slices. Kitchen available for guests to use. Shop on ground floor very useful. Laundry service at a nominal fee, location close to centre and bus station (over the river so away from the noise).
Our essence was born in 1956 with a small grocery store and a friendly 2-room guest house. Essence that we try to show affection in the creative recycled decoration of the hotel.

Clean large room with a clean shared bathroom. Room was quiet and had a nice view. Breakfast included fried/scrambled eggs. Staff were nice and allowed us to check in early after a long nightbus.

Lovely place, spotlessly clean, comfortable rooms with hot shower. Fabulous breakfast. Spotless and fully equipped communal kitchen. Great spaces to couch or work. Great location to enjoy Tupiza and for transport links. Secure off-road parking. Also a good place for booking tours, we enjoyed the horse riding. Best of all, the hosts and staff are all lovely. They are kind, helping us with tips and advice, and went over and above, helping me recover a camera I left. Totally recommend a stay here.
Everything was brilliant with our stay at refugio del turista. They were very accommodating, allowing us to check in late and stay and use the pool after checking out before our nightbus.
The breakfast was very nice and very filling too, and also went from 7 - 9:30 which meant you didn't have to be up too early to enjoy it.
The hostel is in a great location in town near the big markets and lots of street food. It was also very clean, comfortable and tidy, so would definitely reccomend to anyone for a stay in Tupiza.
