This guesthouse is located along one of the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Routes and Yunomine Hot Spring, said to be one of the oldest hot springs baths in Japan, is a 5-minute walk from the property. Super cool hostel. The staff was super nice, and the people I met there as well. The private onsens were great, especially the outdoor one. I slept on the dormitory, and the futon beds were really comfortable and you had a lot of space for yourself. As there are not many food options around, they asked me before if I wanted to order a bento box, which I did. It was very delicious. I would really recommend this place to stay during the Kumano Kodo. Super great hostel and also great value!

Meeting Nori, Se Shiu, and all the other monks was one of the highlights of our trip; they made us feel really welcome anytime we met and were happy to answer our questions with insight and thoughtfulness, making it look easy when in fact they were always busy with keeping things in order. They also guide guests during the Okunoin Cemetery night tours and imbue it with a lot of meaning.

Thank you for the breakfast and the lunch box (it was delicious!!!). We definitely recommend this place for a nice break during Kumano Kodo.
