    It is a beautiful villa by the sea in a fishing village. The owners Hali and Claes, were very welcoming, accommodating and went out of their way to make our stay memorable. Sheba, their pet dog charmed our young daughter. We enjoyed the freshest sea food and a good night’s sleep being lulled to the sound of lapping waves.

    We spent three days in Mawe Mawili swimming between the mangrove trees, chilling by the sea in the numerous shady spots, enjoying Hamis' delicious food and wandering on the beach and the villages juste nearby. We booked a tent but we were upgraded in a cabin, which was very confortable and beautiful, all wood-made with hand-made decoration. Fabian who manages the place was extremely nice and we had an amazing time thanks to him, Hamis and Ali.

    Very nice location by the sea with friendly & gracious helpful owner. Good service & excellent cooking of fresh seafood. The main villa is a delight with a lot of character. We enjoyed our stay & water activities.

    Perfect place to unwind away from the city, nestled in a small village right at the beach. We were the only guests and enjoyed all the comfort of Villa Matalai - amazingly tasty vegetarian food, really nice contact with the managers and owners. The upstairs open room was great - feeling the ocean breeze while sleeping. We felt straight at home and could have stayed at least for two more nights. Definitely recommend a kayak ride into the mangroves and a sunset drink at the swimming hut.

    The location is magical with the best sea view. Tanzania is truly blessed. The people are so welcoming from the host to the villagers. I had a wonderful time conducting my research at the village forest.

    Our stay at Villa Matalai was perfect. The hosts are very welcoming and friendly. We had a choice of which room we wanted and was very happy with the room we got. The food was amazing, and the beach to die for! 10/10

    The location is great, by a lovely beach and a quiet fishing-village. To just sit and enjoy the wiew is like meditation. The staff was amazing, and the food was fresh and healthy. I really wanted to stay longer!

    Mama Sarah and her husband are really lovely people and made our stay at Villa Matalai more than enjoyable! The house and location are absolutely amazing and make doing nothing and relax very easy. The food is mouthwatering and the staff really attentive. Hopefully we can repeat our stay one day

    Villa Matalai is heavenly! I planned to stay for 3 nights but extended my stay for 4 nights. Ensure you go Kayaking around the mangroves and visit the sand bank during your stay. The organic food and fresh sea food is what made my stay extra special. The hosts are warm and friendly. An amazing get away for sos lo travelers, lovers and families.
