It was nice there was a reception by the host and get some explanation about the apartment and Calheta. Because of a mistake of Booking our room had been double booked but we received an upgrade to a bigger apartment. It had everything we needed. The property also includes a big garden with nice places to sit. Unfortunately we didn't have so much time to enjoy it. It is easy to drive to the mountains and the coast from this location.

The apartment was very cosy and spacious. Beautiful view of the see and sunset from the terrace. Very comfortable beds and the apartment was well equipped. We also got a sweet gift from the hosts, that were very helpful and welcoming. The location was good, close to many hike routes and 5 min drive to the nearest beach. There was a small cafe 2 mins walk from the apartment.

The house is a fantastic little time capsule. It is really traditional but very well done, it is very well layed out for a little place and even had a great little outdoor space with a BBQ. The hosts left us some delicious homemade liquor and some home grown eggs. We had a last minute change of numbers and the host accommodated us and had everything ready in time.

The apartment is situated in the north of Calheta and the garden area has the perfect location to view the sunset. It takes only a ~5 minute drive to the beautiful beach. The apartment was very clean and even though we had several intruding cockroaches, the host Teresa immediately helped us defeat them for good. Also Teresa gave us a lot of information on levadas and good places to eat (the best restaurant we visited in our 2 weeks vacation). Even though there was no washing machine, Teresa compensated that through her assistance and kindness. The bed is very large and comfortable and the apartment is very quiet (ignoring the fact that there may be more dogs than humans in Madeira) as there is only an old lady living in the adjacent house.
