The fireplace in the living room was very cosy. The games room was very spatious and had many different games. The house was very big, even for a big group like ours. The flexibility of the host in letting us leave a bit later was much appreciated.

This is a renovated cottage that is hidden away in the country. It was a wonderful place to sit outside and relax, we basically had the "abandoned village" all for ourselves :). Definitely need a car, but well worth being off the beaten path. Easily accessible to places to visit. It was a little chilly, but blankets & heaters were provided. Kitchen is very well equipped with everything for cooking. Bed was comfortable.
Penela (Near Cumieira)

Wonderful country house, decorated in rustic style, full of beautiful details, clean and fragrant. Silence and tranquality around. At convenient distance from important tourist sites, a car is a must. The host, Mrs. Paula, deserves special recognition - we felt really welcomed and hosted. A stay worth remembering!

We loved the house. It's located in a very quiet village about 25 minutes from Coimbra and close to the fabulous Roman ruins at Conimbraga. There are other excellent day trips in the area and all the roads are excellent. The house is beautiful and well equipped. It was chilly weather during our stay but the fireplace made it so warm snd cozy. Carla is very helpful - we all managed with Google translate! This is a wonderful stay.

This home was absolutely exceptional. The hosts were easy to communicate with and check in was a breeze. The location and the views are fantastic. There's a little cafe down the street and there are large grocery stores available down the hill in Avelar. The road to the house is paved so no issues with access. The house was clean and tidy and well-equipped with everything you need for your stay. it's actually better than what the photos show, IMO. We didn't have a chance to use the pool (it's been unseasonably cold in Central Portugal this year) but did take advantage of the game room. The yard was also pet friendly and our two little dogs loved running around the yard. If you're looking for peace and quiet with great amenities, this place is for you!! We'll hopefully be back again.

Words cannot do our stay justice. Casa Azul must be experienced for oneself. Fiona and Steve are true artists with an amazing attention to detail, who created a haven out of ruins. They are very generous and thoughtful hosts, who have gone above and beyond, and put their heart and soul into this place. Together with the house, garden, pool and the frogs, they made us feel like at home from the first moment. The location is also perfect to enjoy the magical Fragas de São Simão, although Casa Azul is worth visiting for itself.
Aguda (Near Cumieira)

The house is attractive and well-appointed. The views from the rear deck are beautiful. The region is also spectacular with great hikes. The property is close to the Xisto (slate) house villages.
