A delightful family, beautiful studios with rooftop terraces, in a quiet part of the Algarve away from the tourist crowds – we would stay there again. The studios are their own self-contained buildings, grouped around a small but spotlessly clean pool with rosemary and bay hedges, shaded by citrus trees. A couple from Germany and a woman from Vancouver were also staying there - that was the whole crowd. The elderly couple who live there don't speak English, but we all communicated just fine. We were very complimented when she brought us a plate of her Sunday lunch, an Algarve dish called xarém do marisco, so good!

The Arrais Family were lovely hosts. We spent several afternoons chatting about Portugal, their family, the little dog Pipoca, and we felt like we were dear friends when we departed. The host couple speak only Portuguese, so work on your language skills and/or use the google translate app to help with communicating. It works! The location was perfect for us--we were after a quiet, non-touristy area to visit the ocean, take walks, and stop at local cafes for a cup of coffee. All of that was perfect in this stay. Our apartment was spacious and had three terrace areas to lounge. Our rooftop terrace was so lovely at sunset.

During our stay we had accommodations in the Ria Suite. This is a comfortable room with an en-suite bathroom and an attached patio that offers stunning views of the lagoons and sea. Very well kept property and walking distance to the quayside and Fuseta (awesome bird watching). It was easy to hop a ferry to Ilha Fuseta or enjoy the beach on the lagoon. The hosts, Jose and Francoise, were absolutely top notch - and their restaurant recommendations were ON POINT! Highly recommend this location - quiet, clean and comfortable.

The Casa Maria is an absolutely beautiful house with a great natural garden. Tiago is a great host and helped us to have a highly comfortable vacation at this location. He even organised a parking lot for our camping because the road to the house wasn’t wide enough. While we stayed there we could see a lot of Birds and other animals which loves the garden of the house. This was really great. Another highlight is the really cool pool and the hammock on the patio. Even the trains which cross behind the house aren‘t annoying because they only drive once an hour and not in the night.
