The location was extremely quiet, the local people were exceptionally kind and hospitable and made us feel extremely welcome. Freshly baked bread and pastries were delivered at 8 am every morning to our patio table by our friendly hosts Joao and Fatima. They invited us for port in the cellar and on our second evening we were taken to a cellar just below our apartment where we were introduced to the ancient process of crushing the grapes by feet in a concrete bath to make port. Although the bedrooms were small, the beds were comfortable and clean and the huge terrace was wonderful. The weather was too cool for the lovely swimming pool unfortunately. We went there with a hire car and we had safe and secure parking on the premises. We did day trips from there to Pinhao and Peso de Regua. This was a highlight of our visit to Portugal and highly recommended.

The property is charming and private as the house was located separately. It had only land and nature in its surroundings which was perfect. The house itself was full of charming elements preserving its antique appeal while having all the modern commodities. The staff made us feel at home and we would love to visit again. Appartment went over our expectacion! It was fully equiped, very nice house and furniture and a wonderful terrace! In the centre of Armamar, which is a very nice town with all service. Marli and her family were very nice and they felt us at home. Great!!!
