The property and site were just phenomenal - the villas had real authentic and rustic Portugese charm, and you can see how much thought has gone into decorating each of them individually with such lovely and unique details. The view from the rooftop of our villa was stunning, and it was well-equipped with everything that we needed for our stay. The double bed was highly comfortable, too, and there was plenty of space for storage for us while we were there.
Pilar could not have done more for us at all, even down to stocking our fridge so our toddler could eat when we arrived after a late flight. She is a truly exceptional host!
The villa complex is a great distance from the local town and beach, and we were happy to stay local and walk everywhere as we wanted a relaxing family holiday to recharge our batteries. If you wanted to go further afield, renting a car or bicycles would be more beneficial, but Pilar even had recommendations for those, too!
The plunge pool has incredible views of the sea, and is in really good condition with some chairs, loungers and cushions around it too. There was also a barbecue, launderette and airers available free of charge so that we could do emergency washing and drying (so, so helpful with a toddler in tow!).

We arrived at our new holiday home and were delighted by the space available and the outside areas. Having two meant everyone could have their own space whether in the shade or in the sun. With both doors open there was a lovely breeze. The location was great and meant we could walk everywhere.

The house is in a perfect location. It is less than a 5 minute walk to the bus stop in Monte Gordo where you can catch the bus to nearby towns such as Vila Real de Santa Antonio, Tavira and even Faro. There is a Mini Preco supermarket a few minutes away. But best of all is the closeness to the beach where there is a boardwalk which stretches the length of the beach and is dotted with numerous restaurants and snack bars. The house itself is very comfortable with all the amenities you would expect from high quality self-catering accommodation and the Wi-Fi has very good speeds. Contact with the agent Nelson was via Watsapp and he was always available to answer any queries we had. All in all we had a wonderful stay in Mare Beach and would definitely stay there again in the future 😎

Great house in a nice town. We felt like at home - very clean and everything is in place. The owner is very supportive and responsive. The house is pleasant walking distance from great beach. Never too crowded - so we never needed pool.

Good localization - close to the beach with a great access for trolleys and within easy reach of the restaurants, cafes, ice creams or fruit stalls. Nice pools and garden around. Intersting activities in kids club (although all in Portuguese). Kind gift for my wife’s birthday. Very nice experience in wellness spa. Some day they organized a kind of a free gift like fruits or Sangria served around the pool with DJs music. Altura by itself is a very nice village with a delicious regional cuisine restaurants!
Love the welcome and nothing could be too much trouble for both Fatima and her husband. The peacefulness of the place along with its proximity to the beach and seaside villages was superb.

The house was great. Exactly as described, super clean and had everything you can possibly need. The location is great, just 5 minutes walk to the local beach and local restaurants, and also within a short drive away of other villages and beaches if you wish to go somewhere else. The host was very helpful and responded to everything very quickly, and he was also very flexible with check-in and check-out times. Will stay again if/when I return to Altura.
The villa was beautiful and plenty for the teenage grandchildren to do as well as our younger granddaughter. The beach is lovely and quite easy to walk across to other areas.

The location near the N125 is perfect to venture out in a car and visit the surrounding towns and villages.
The hotel room facilities, views, comfort and cleanliness. The quality of the breakfast and evening meals all highly commendable.
