Everything was beautiful, the space was lovely, the snacks and Breakfast was more than sufficient, the bedding was extremely comfortable, the spa pool was wonderful, and the hosts were very kind and went out of their way to be helpful. 10 out of 10 across the board. Very grateful to be able to have our dog stay as well. While situated a fair distance from town, it made for a very peaceful stay,and the drive out was via an area that I had never traveled before and probably never would have if we were domiciled in town. We, my wife and I found our hosts to be courteous, very respectful and very welcoming. Must say that we both enjoyed touching base with their dog's and cat. Would we stay again????. Most definitely....And a cooked breakfast is an added bonus not to be missed

The hosts were friendly, attentive, and fun. The view from the property was amazing and the on-site hike among the trees was a surprise bonus. The villa was comfy, cozy, and clean. Our stay at Kauri Villas exceeded our expectations.

We were welcomed warmly and shown around the beautiful property. Breathtaking views, we loved our room. We will return for another visit soon. The pool is inviting the addition of the games room space, which is also inviting. We loved our quiet morning coffee over looking the bay. Super helpful we will be telling all our friends. Staying at Kauri Villas was a wonderful experience. When first arriving I was really stunned by the beautiful view overlooking mountains and a lake. My wife and I stayed in our own little cottage separate from the main house. The cottage was cozy, and the hot tub overlooking the sunset was magical. Also, the sheep were really cute, and we were able to feed them!
What a fantastic few days I had at Kauri Villas. The cottage was lovely and quiet, very clean and well appointed. I enjoyed the nightly spa - what a treat! It was also nice to take a bush walk on the property. It is such a wonderful piece of paradise. The owners, Mike and Andrea, were very friendly and hospitable. They were also very accommodating when there was an issue with the online booking.com platform. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommend.

Kauri Villa is a lovely surprise up a pretty driveway. The views are gorgeous and the different accomodation options mean there is a spot for everyone. Andrea and Mike were welcoming and generous with their time. The two bedroom self catering cottage had everything you need and was ideal for a couple of nights - we would have liked to stay longer. The beds were comfortable with a choice of pillows and having a bathroom for each bedroom was a bonus. The decor was restful and welcoming. Don't forget your swimsuits for the spa and pool.
Mike was a warm and attentive host who made us a delicious breakfast to order: bacon, eggs. Dench pastries... The works! Charming villa accommodation beautifully decorated with Andrea's impressive collection of vintage collectibles. Loved the facilities:Large pool, spa and the kids couldn't get enough of the games room. It was a good space to relax and meet other guests too. We really appreciated the free upgrade to a larger room for our family which meant we were closer to the facilities too.
We would certainly recommend Kauri Villas as a place to stay. The hosts were very warm and friendly, the accommodation clean and comfortable, the serenity and views superb, the breakfast (where this is an option) excellent, and the games room ideal for children (and adults). The location was a very pleasant spot to relax and unwind and to explore the Whangarei Heads area.
