A small Dominican monastery converted to accommodation with the small church attached, open to the public during the day.
The room was compact as might be expected, and although rooms and corridor were hard floors with the potential to be noisy, guests were respectful and it was quiet in the evening and at night. Comfortable bed with basic shower/shampoo and hand-wash. Room had a coffee machine and a selection of herbal teas.
A more than adequate continental breakfast serving a platter of sliced meats and cheese, fruit yoghurt, several breads, butter and jams; tea and coffees of your choice. Very friendly and attentive.
A quiet and rural neighbourhood. Great for walking/cycling in the ancient forests. The owner was helpful in providing our motorcycles with parking just outside the church.
The carpark at Eetcafe-Riekelt is the starting point for the visit to the flint mine, which I would recommend. Our host was most helpful in getting us booked for the guided tour when the website failed us.
There are not many places to eat in the area; most close on Tuesdays; the Eetcafe-Riekelt provided very good local food; evident from the many clients who went there each day.
A lovely relaxed place, great for exploring the countryside around Rickholt.
Spacious, clean home in a beautiful village. Great kitchen and dining space for a large family. Friendly hosts who were extremely accommodating. Just 600 metres from a bus stop that took 10-15 minutes to the centre of Maastricht. Perfect location for a family. Annie allowed our children to view her beautiful horses too.
It was a pleasure to stay at this awesome building and its generous host. We liked the small villages around there and the people's hospitality and Maastricht, of course.
The house was very well equipped and full of character. God value for money. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Parking was easy. The village is very pretty and there are great cycle routes from this property.
