We stayed at Gaia Lake Bungalows for one week and had an excellent time. You can rent the whole villa and enjoy a really unique private experience in this central region of Sri Lanka. The villa is located directly at the beautiful Kandalama Lake (with a stunning view on the lake) and is certainly one of the best locations you can choose for exploration of the cultural triangle between Polonaruwa, Anuradhapura, Kandy and Dambulla, including Sigiriya. Sarath, the private cook will introduce you to the various flavours of traditional Sri Lankan food and Darshi the manager kindly supports any kind of arrangements you may need. We booked the entire villa for only 3 persons but there is plenty of room for 6 persons or even more. Moreover a large swimming pool is available for exercise or relaxation after excursions. We enjoyed our stay very much.

We were given the best room in the hotel, overlooking the pool and felt like we were in the middle of the jungle, hearing bird song and sighting the lights of fireflies. The room was extremely spacious and very clean. Our host brought us water and candles and organised all of our day trips around Dambulla, we didn’t have to lift a finger. The gates of the hotel were also locked at night, making the accommodation feel very safe. Great value for money.

Everything at Aloe vera guest house was just lovely. The surroundings was sooo beautiful and the owner and his wife was so friendly! He showed us all around Dambula and Sigiriya for a really good price and we are so so happy with our stay. I would really recommend staying at this guesthouse because you get to see so much more here compared to if you would only stay in sigirya! Also a big plus with this guesthouse is that the owner and his wife make a really good breakfast for you! And that have cute puppies! Thanks!

This was the best hostel I have ever stayed in out of 60 countries ☺️ Roy and his team go above and beyond to make the stay as perfect as possible. They organise so many activities (like lake swimming, temple visits, sunrise hikes etc.), and make sure everyone is included with family dinner. The rooms were spotlessly clean, the double bed in the dorm was so so comfortable and the terrace was perfect for relaxing. They made sure to answer every question you could have and knew most people by name. I can’t recommend Roy’s enough, thank you for such a lovely stay.

We really enjoy our stay here!! Its just excelent, the room and the bathroom are so big, modern and clean! The room is in the middle of a beautiful green park. Also, nuwan and his family are very very nice and they are trying all the time to make sure you are ok. Nuwan took us to a beautiful place to see the Sunset. You can have dinner / Launch here and is very good!! Thanks for everything!! 😀
