Incredible host! Satomi-san treated me like family from the moment I checked in to the last minute! She suggested a good one day itinerary when the area I wanted to visit was closed. She made delicious onigiri as well (umeboshi was my favourite). The hostel was well organised and clean and I liked the bath. All of the other guests were kind and respectful too. I would definitely go back. Also, there are friendly cats there which was a nice surprise!

The setting was great. Surrounded by greenery, very quiet with a nice view of the water. Lovely sunrises and very helpful host nearby. Spacious with fully equipped kitchen and washing machine. Everything was very clean and the beds were comfortable.

Simple guest house in the port town Miyanoura. The room was spacious and a classical japanese Tatami mat room, which was rather frugal.
The shared facilities were abundant, so it was not an issue dhat there was no bathroom in the room.

The location is good, it was a 10 minute walk from the port. The staff was very nice, he let us check in early and we could leave our bags at the store downstairs after checkout.

The location is perfect to drop off your bags from the ferry and start exploring withon minutes off arriving. Its the closest guesthouse to the big ferry from Kagoshima. Its also the lowest price guest house I found. Its an old japanese style guesthouse so dont be suprised that there is no actual bed or a couch/chair in the room. But I actually found it quite comfortable to sleep on the thin matress on the nice floor and had a great sleep.

It is such a unique experience where you are in a quiet and serene place like staying in a village straight out from a anime story. The house had everything you want after a long day of hiking and exploring the island. Comfortable beds, spacious lounge, good heating, shower with good water pressure and a deep soak bath tub. Also handy to have snack vending machine, microwave, kitchen and laundry facilities available. Loved the Disney village vibe of the whole place and the super friendly hosts.
This resort is fabulous - a stunning location (epic views) and beautifully maintained property. The food and service were second to none - seriously - we returned from a long day of hiking to hot baths drawn in our rooms. Our family had two types of rooms (a Jr suite and a villa), and both were lovely with ocean views. Our packages included breakfast, dinner and outstanding spa treatments making this resort a great value, as well. Our dinners at Okas restaurant were Michelin-worthy. Thank you, Sankara, for a wonderfully memorable stay!
The cottage village was easy to find and access by car. Each cottage has its own parking place beside the building. That’s very convenient. The location is great. Reaching hiking routes from there is easy. A supermarket is like 10 minutes away by car. The place was very clean. There is a small kitchen. Cooking simple meals is possible. The air conditioner worked well and kept the place warm enough during the night. The beds were comfortable. The staff were friendly. We had a really good time staying there.
Location! Near Anbo which was a nice village to go to visit restaurants. The little house was equiped with everything we needed and it is so nice that outside you can watch the stars. Very friendly staff!
