We loved everything about Hakone Kyuan. We were picked up by a shuttle van at the train station, and the whole check in process was so easy and convenient. The ryokan is a small, traditional ryokan with only 10 rooms. They were fully booked but we felt like we were the only guests there. We saw other guests only when it was check out time. That's how exceptional the privacy and service was during our stay. The private onsen was truly relaxing. The kaiseki dinner and traditional Japanese breakfast were delicious and beautifully presented. The dinner included toro sashimi and wagyu beef. The sweet lady who served our meals explained the food. They were supposed to shuttle us back to the train station but accommodated our request to be dropped off at the Hakone Open Air Museum instead (which is just a minute's drive from the train station).

Amazing place to relax! The private Onsen was beautiful. Food was delicious and vast, there were top notch massage chairs, and a beautiful terrace with hot spring water for your feet.

The exceptionally detailed level of service. Staff was extremely helpful and thorough. Location is ideal, stayed in a two floor suite which was perfect. Private onsen was a great perk as well.

The room and facilities were amazing! I stayed in Den, and it was probably the nicest room I’ve stayed in (also the most expensive). The staff were very friendly and helpful.
