We had a perfect time here, we were a family of three with a 1 year old and the wonderful hostess made the visit fantastic for us. Great japanese cuisine, lovely upper floor which was exclusively ours during our stay. Genuine futon mattresses in a very spacious environment. We really had a lovely time here. Akhi was an exceptional host. He picked us up from the train station and allowed us to check in really early. He knew the scheduled timing of the buses and gave us ideas on what we could do around town when we had some spare time. We started the Nakahechi route and on the day, he messaged saying we could use the shoes dryer when we got back since it was raining. He was attentive, knowledgable and flexible. The house was spacious and had pretty much everything you needed. Akhi was responsive and reachable via WhatsApp and came to the house when needed. He also arranged luggage transfers for us - thank you so much!

This is an excellent private room / guest house prior to starting your Kumano Kodo. Quick walk to and from the train station / tourist agency. Plenty of restaurants abound in the near area, but make reservations! Air conditioning worked like a charm in late July with high humidity. The 2nd story balcony / porch was great for hanging my clothes out to dry.
