It was beautifully designed with lots of lovely complimentary touches. We loved the book store and coffee shops. The food was out of this world. Totally unique and memorable experience.

I absolutely loved the private outdoor bath inside the room. It was wonderful to soak on your terrace. Rooms were very spacious and comfortable. The dining experience was amazing. Each group of guests had a private space for dining. The food was absolutely incredible. We had eight-course dinner in a Japanese style. There was also a very convenient parking. The staff was incredible, very hospitable. The service was very personable.

We had a great experience at the hostel. The person at reception was super helpful, kind and gave us great tips to check out local spots. The option to use the bikes was great and the local food guides were incredible. So much detail and love put into them.

This was our best stay in Japan! The location is super close to the station. Matsumoto is a cosy village. Staff was super friendly and this was our best onsen experience so far!
Amazing guesthouse in a wonderful location. The rooms have a specific style reminiscent of old Japanese style. First time sleeping on a tatami, it feels like in a movie. There's also a little Onsen included for 300¥ extra. It's a great accommodation after returning from a day hiking in Kamikochi. The personnel are very kind and do their best to accommodate any request.
Mind that it's a small mountain village at the gate of a national park, so plan your timetable wisely.
The staff bent over forwards to help us and understand our few words of Japanese, very welcoming. Comfy tatami room, nice onsen, little village on edge of Matsumoto town with some evening food options but no breakfast options. But that was okay because we'd brought food and there was coffee and tea at the hotel.
Staff were wonderful with our 5 year old and some of them spoke excellent English. Excellent location for visiting Kamikochi and for climbing Mount Yake Dake. They offer a free shuttle drop off at Kamikochi in the morning and the trail for mount Yake Dake leaves from the hotel. Climbing the Mount Yake Dake volcano is a must-do experience! The views from up there are stunning and you can also see the whole Kamikochi Valley. If you have time, do also go to the Shinhotaka Ropeway and Hida Folk Village.
