We loved our stay at the Machiya. Our host Hitty gave us the best welcome. The facilities are very good and it is amazing to have a house to yourself. We loved the closeness to the station and the city is a 15 min walk away. It was very clean and well provided. We would recommend this to everyone.

The flat was all on one floor and our family of 5 fitted in nicely. It’s 10 minutes walk from the station , so convenient to get to and there are plenty of restaurants in the area. It rained all day, on one of the days we were there and it was great that there were complimentary, large umbrellas to use. There is a large table and cooking facilities, if you need them.

Even though we had high expectations based on the great reviews, our stay managed to exceed all our expectations! Nina and Masaki were incredible hosts. Nina was so friendly and explained what sights there were to see, even offering to reserve things for us. She made us feel at home immediately and made us very comfortable by introducing us to other guests. The evening activities were amazing. Nina and Masaki went above and beyond, and have a genuine passion for making your stay special and giving you an insight into Japanese life, which you wouldn’t experience elsewhere. I would recommend to anyone visiting Kanazawa and we will hopefully stay again in the future!
