Instead of the modern smells of plastic walls and floors and chemical paints, you get the scent of cedar carpentry, sand walls, and tatami - enjoy while it lasts, fewer people can build such house every year. Great property - our room was very spacious and comfortable with traditional Japanese elements that made it special. Sasa and Annie our hosts were fantastic and really looked after us - it was raining when we arrived and they picked us up from the station and took us to a wonderful local restaurant where we had a fabulous night. Mikawa is about 20 km out of Kanazawa but train station is close and it was lovely to be out of the busy tourist areas. Thank you Sasa and Annie for a wonderful stay.
