It was very special to us to live such an old Tuscan city built on the hillside. It has a strong charm and traditions were just radiated from every piece of stone in the city. The appartement was spacious and comfortable for 4 people (family with 2 children). As the city is in the hills, the nights were comfortably chill to compensate the summer mediterranian day heat, to give a chance to be well refreshed for the next day.

It was great for walks, the Ponte Sospeso is a must see. The villa was generally a good place to drive from (if you don’t mind driving windy mountain roads) to Lucca or Pistoia, which have excellent train connections e.g. to Pisa, Florence, La Spezia. There is a lovely town nearby San Marcello (5 minutes drive) with restaurants and shops. Patrizia, the host was very welcoming and helpful from the first email to the final Goodbye message.
