The location was absolutely wonderful, just a short walk to the Mahābodhi-temple and all the major sights in Bodhgaya. Very close to the center. We had an absolutely marvellous time, the room was impeccable save for some mosquitoes which are quite simply unavoidable in these parts of India. Our very gracious and friendly host helped us multiple times with all kinds of details and plans, including a very economical and all-around functional day trip to Rajgir to see Vulture's Peak and Nālandā. I warmly recommend you a similar plan if you have a day to spare in the area. The breakfast was exceptional! A tray full of everything one could ask for, for a very good price! Such a true delight! Laundry service worked well and was also very affordable. :) I remember one episode especially warmly. I was having a long phone call just outside the hotel relatively late in the evening and I was pacing the small corridor leading to the hotel. It was a relatively cool evening, and when our host noticed me pacing back and forth outdoors he very discretely brought me a warm cup of tea without me asking! This gesture of friendliness and compassion was greatly appreciated, thank you again so much! I am being very sincere here: the owner of this place is an extremely friendly and compassionate man, and I whole-heartedly hope that my review will help him and potential customers to meet each other, so that the wonderful time I had at Bodhgaya might be repeated in the souls and minds of others. :)

It is a beautiful homestay, owned by a very kind and welcoming family. The house is a bit outside the craziness of Bodhgaya, yet still very close to the main touristic points, which I found to be a perfect mix. I hope to come back!

Everything fits here. Big, light, airy balcony room, good, quiet aircon, quiet working fan, big comfortable bed, good and quiet location. Decent restaurant and tables outside. The owner, Mr. Gupta, is a very nice and helpful gentleman, who has managed the right mix here of hotel comforts and homestay atmosphere.

Probably our best stay in all of India! We arrived in Gaya on the train after 3am. Sumit the owner waited for us to arrive and helped us navigate with our tuk tuk driver from the station. The location is walking distance to restaurants and temples. Room was.perfectly clean, and the AC was great! I would recommend for single travelers or couples. If you are looking for a hotel with excellent facilities and conveniently located close to the sprawling pilgrimage town of Bodhgaya, I highly recommend Gaurav Guest House. During my recent stay (March 2023), I was impressed by the comfortable rooms, good amenities, and friendly hosts who went out of their way to ensure my trip was enjoyable. One of the standout features of this hotel is its location. It is close to Mahabodhi Temple Complex. Some temples are just a stone's throw away, but not in the centre of the bustle of the crowded area, making it the perfect base to explore the city. So everything is within easy reach whether you are interested in pilgrimage or shopping. The guest house itself is well-appointed, with spacious and comfortable rooms. The beds are cosy and provide a good night's sleep without disturbing noises. Free Wi-Fi speed is good. They also have parking space. I went with my parents, and they also found the guest house suitable for their liking. What really sets this hotel apart is the friendly and attentive hosts. We went there during Holi festival week. So many temples and shops were closed. But the guest house staff provided valuable information so we could visit the temples during the limited open hours. They speak English fluently and are always on hand to provide guidance and advice on the best things to see and do in the area. If you plan to visit Bodhgaya, especially if you are someone like me who plans a trip without a guide or travel agency. Finding safe and friendly accommodation when planning a trip can be challenging. Finding a hotel with a sense of friendliness and safety, where your well-being is a top priority and genuine hospitality is extended, can significantly enhance your travel experience. That's why I highly recommend Gaurav Guest House.
