Batu Kapal is a magical place, surrounded by nature, away from the hustle and bustle of Bukit Lawang. The staff is wonderful, they made us feel like we were at home. They helped us with everything and shared laughter, music and card games with us. We felt like we took home not only the experience, but also having met good friends. Also around our room we were able to see Thomas leafs, different types of macaques (in fact one day they were on our balcony) and on the last day an orangutan! We also had the opportunity to do the 3-day trek, sleeping two nights in the jungle, which was another unforgettable experience and we would like to highlight our guide Jipur, who was great and informed us about the jungle and the species that inhabit it, and the cook Mr. Black, who despite being in the jungle, made us delicious and abundant meals. It has truly been an unforgettable experience and, although we know it is difficult, we would love to revisit this wonderful place and its people, Bagus, Jipur and the rest of the team.

Very personal. Got to know all of the staff and they were so helpful with organising activities, food and cars for us. Had the greatest time at this accommodation. Rooms were comfortable and the fan was a great touch on the hot days. I also loved the dog and cat on property, they were adorable!!

Murad was very helpful and knowledgeable accross our stay. He helped with organising transport, info for tours, and was flexible when we had to make some changes. Room was nice with air conditioning. The food was amazing, we tried many dishes which were all great

Beautiful environment, clean air outside the busy part of the city. Great owners who took care of us in every way, excellent kitchen and clean and comfortable accommodation. An oasis of peace and good mood. I recommend booking a 3-day jungle trek through them, it was the best experience of the entire stay. We saw a lot of animals in the wild thanks to the excellent guides and they also have a great cook :)

- Bungalow about 60 square meters. It is a small house with 2 rooms and 2 beds. - Quiet There is only one bungalow. Located outside and not near the noisy center or a noisy mosque. - Comfortable double bed -Friendly female manager organized the 5-day private jungle tour, advised me on it (group or private) and answered all my questions. I didn't have to do anything. - Small kitchen with tasty food in a beautiful location by a small pond. - Drinking water available - Female manager went on a short hike with me on the first day. - Female manager speaks good English and can organize a private taxi to Medan. - Breakfast at 5:30 a.m. is possible if you ordered a private taxi to Medan at 6 a.m. - Very good 5-day private jungle tour If you want to do something that will stay in your memory for the rest of your life, you should do the jungle tour. The longer the better, but it's exhausting. On the 2nd, 3rd and 4th day I didn't see any other tourists. If you are not a 25-year-old strong young man, I recommend the private jungle tour. Then you can go at your own pace and don't have to follow others about speed, route or breaks. - Good food on the jungle tour, I didn't get any stomach problems. - Friendly guide and 2 friendly guide assistants - Guide spoke good English. - You should bring: Waterproof shoes if you are doing it for more than 3 days. You can buy them up to size 42 in Bukit Lawang. I walked along the river for 2 days in my sturdy flip-flops. Most importantly: You should walk with 2 sticks. The guide gave me 2 bamboo sticks. Without these sticks I would have fallen in the river several times a day (very slippery stones, strong current). Rain poncho that the guide can buy for you in Bukit Lawang.

For the price, the hotel is great. The location couldn't be better, and the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend booking the jungle tour through the hotel. Our guide, Henry, was absolutely amazing, and it was a wonderful experience.

I 100% recommend Grandma Guest House. Owned by a little friendly family, everyone is honest and will be happy to help you. First night I assisted to kids's traditional dance and a delicious dinner, I keep good memories from my stay in this place. Thank you all of you
