Such a magical place to stay. Spacious and clean. We felt so well looked after by Made and Kania. It was wonderful to be surrounded by nature and the rice fields. Despite the traffic getting into Ubud centre was easy and Made was happy to drop off if needed. Highly recommend and I hope we go back one day.

The family suite was very spacious and comfortable, in a beautiful, calm setting. We enjoyed the excellent little pool and great breakfasts. A good location for exploring central parts of Bali and experiencing village culture.

Great small property with everything you need to relax. It is a bit of a distant place, but it is right next to the great beach. The beach is not suitable for swimming due to the large ocean waves, however, it is an excellent location for strolling and you will only encounter locals there. It was a great place to get back to relax when we used it as our base camp to get around Bali. We had a car, but you can rent a bike or take a taxi as well to get around. The staff was excellent and helpful in every situation. BTW, someone might say that the ocean is sometimes a bit loud, which is true and something you should expect if you want to sleep next to the ocean. We have liked that experience. :-)

Exceptional service from staff, we even got a welcome drink which was really nice. Very peaceful and quiet location. They provide food and breakfast, which was delicious and good portion size. Room was massive, it was just a fantastic stay.

Everything was just perfect. The owners were so sweet & helpful, the room was perfect, and super clean & cooling pool, and quiet, yummy breakfast. Perfect location just outside from busy Ubud center, but near you have amazing local cafes & restaurants where you can walk easily. You can also rent a scooter at the property, do laundry, and refill your water. It was just amazing! Recommend booking this place to enjoy real Bali life 🙏 and of course, it is perfect location if you want to do tourist things as well. Near you have 2 beautiful waterfalls. Thank you, Mangku & Sandi!
It was very quiet and, if you want to experience living in a relatively rural Balinese village then this is a good example. Our hosts were welcoming and friendly but Coki, a local tour guide, was absent for most of our stay and his charming wife (Coki2?) had very limited English (as we have very limited Bahasa!). She is a good cook and gave us breakfast each day and offered evening meals for a very modest extra charge.
We loved just everything.
Location is great - in the small village surrounded by rice fields. Beautiful waterfall and river in the walking distance.

Ari is a wonderful host, helped us whenever we needed, organized several tours for us and even was our personal guide. We are really thankful for every day we spent in Kubu Bakas.
Most comfortable beds, lovely semi-outdoor bathroom, large room made up with attention to detail. Peaceful surroundings in an authentic Balinese village outside of Ubud. Big breakfast and the loveliest hosts. Three sweet dogs accompany you wherever you go.
I had such a beautiful stay at Kubu Bakas. The team were incredible people who made such a wonderful effort to welcome me and look after me during my stay. Their menu didn't include vego/vegan options but they went out of their way to cook something different for me each meal, and it was all super delicious! I had a beautiful time wandering the village and the rice fields, it was a gorgeous spot to pause for a few days and I loved every part of my stay there
