We had an incredible stay at Casa Arokaria in Voukolies, Western Crete, with our family and two teenage daughters. From the moment we arrived, we received a warm welcome and were charmed by the beautifully decorated house. The tranquil setting amidst lemon and orange trees was simply delightful, and we savored freshly squeezed fruit juice every morning. One of the highlights of our trip was a breathtaking hike through Gorge Deliana. We were accompanied by curious goats and sheep, which made the experience even more memorable. The natural beauty surrounding us left us in awe, and it was a great way for our family to connect with nature. During our stay, we also visited Biolea, a local organic olive oil factory. We had the opportunity to learn about the olive oil production process and indulge in delicious meals at a picturesque location atop a hill. The flavors of the region truly impressed us, and it was a culinary adventure we won't forget. Overall, our time at Casa Arokaria was unforgettable. The warm hospitality, serene surroundings, and the chance to immerse ourselves in the beauty of Western Crete made it a perfect family getaway. The mountain views were amazing. The kids loved the pool. We saw swallows, bats and lots of cats! We would love to come back again. The house had everything we needed and Maria was a great host. It was also a great location to visit the beaches of West Crete.
