Quiet location, free onsite parking, great shower, excellent coffee selection in the room, clean, staff very friendly and Paul went that extra mile for us. Very pretty village by the Meon Valley Trail. Our dinner and breakfast cooked at the pub were both delicious. The pub has a great atmosphere and even a dog bar!

Excellent location in quiet village. Rooms great value and exactly what we wanted. So dog friendly and the rooms with grass outside made it so easy to stay with our pooch. Will definitely be returning. The rooms had been well thought out with little amenities to match.

Lovely country pub with excellent accommodation. The rooms are in separate individual lodges, each modern, clean and well-appointed with an iron, fan, hair dryer etc. Wifi is free. Rooms are quiet and well away from any noise from the pub. Staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. The breakfast menu is excellent. The pub also serves meals and has a large beer garden. The pub name commemorates the founder of Lord's cricket ground who retired and is buried in the village.
