The Cholmeley Arms, hotel in South Witham

The Cholmeley Arms is located in Burton-le-Coggles, in the countryside 20 minutes’ drive from Grantham.

A lovely country pub with restaurant and rooms. The food was very good with the chef going out of his way to modify a main course to suit my dietary needs. The breakfast ,with a good selection of fresh fruit , was excellent. Our bedroom was large and airy with a very comfortable bed. The standard of accessories was higher than we have normally found at other b&b's. In summer the large well kept garden offers a lovely outdoor setting to relax over a drink or two. In the pub grounds is a lovely little shop selling fresh fruit and veg, meat products, locally sourced sauces and so much more including hand crafted gifts. Well worth a visit.

It was perfect! I had a very comfortable and cosy stay. The owners are so friendly, and the property is in a lovely quiet village right off the A1. It was beautifully decorated, there was fresh milk for a cup of tea and the bed was very comfortable. A real home away from home! They had everything you could need.

The village! The accommodation was dirty , I know it was an old building but no excuse for the lack of cleanliness, the shower had mould in the grout, not just black but furry! Sat on the bed and hit the wooden slats straight away! Was not informed untillwed booked on that there was a music bash on! 7.30pm band right beneath our room, tv had 5 channels not even freeview! Not that we could turn the volume enough to drown out the sound! Paid £162 to turn round and go home! Atrocious

Extremely handy for travellers on A1, it is a mile away and a genuine timbered old fashioned pub in quiet little village.Fabulous wonky floors too. Food appeared genuinely home made and a nice change from the prescribed chain pub menu

Traditional village pub in a good location. Our stay coincided with a live music night which added to the experience, although it might have been a little loud for some. The pub was described as 800 years old and the rooms were a little quirky but perfectly acceptable. Bar staff were very friendly. Of note, the car park had an electric car fast charger.
