We stayed at the cottage which was equipped with a kitchen so we made our own food, but the location was perfect for Thirsk races. We arrived after the reception had shut for the day, but received instructions on how to access our key very easily and there was a lovely man that greeted us on arrival that stayed there frequently and he showed us round the pool/sauna area and how to book a slot for the pool/jacuzzi. The grounds surrounding the building were beautiful and peaceful. Outdoor Jacuzzi and indoor pool perfect. Only stayed one night and wished we’d stayed longer. Booked for next year but for two nights for Thirsk races again.

Staff were very thorough and couldn't have done enough for you. Accommodation was great, fitted to a high standard, even down to the small details. Private hot tub was a lovely addition and very clean! The site also holds lots of seasonal events which looked lovely, you could see the effort the staff had put into decor etc. to make for a successful event and positive experience for all. Great location too, not even 10 minute drive to thirsk town centre. We will definitely return!

Gorgeous village location, lovely food (both dinner and breakfast excellent), attractive and comfortable bar and dining areas. Comfy bed.in nice quaint bedroom. Bathroom fittings a bit tired but completely functional.
Beautiful village. Lovely hotel. Very large, cool room with nice touches. A very warm welcome.Food at night was delicious. Service at night was the best we experienced on our walking holiday. Just lovely.
Comfortable bed . Nice pub in a lovely village location. Ideal for walking near to the white horse. We go there often. Or should I say did do but been put off I’m afraid this time.
location was great, middle of the village, easy access.
dinner was very good and wine excellent
breakfast was brilliant ( but ordering the previous night caused partner to cancel and reorder)
Lovely welcoming place to stay with everything you needed for an enjoyable short stay right on your doorstep. Loved Kilburn village with the Mouseman wood carvers showroom and workshop, Kilburn Church and being able to walk up the hill to the White Horse. Great food, cocktails and real fire made the pub the perfect spot for all our dining needs. Great staff throughout our stay.
Lovely little gem tucked away in a tiny village in the middle of nowhere. Our room was huge and loved that I could sit on the windowsil and watch the world go by.
We ate here too and the food was amazing, we had 3 course and drinks and went to bed full and happy.
Breakfast was also lovely, lots of choice and served in a cosy part of the pub downstairs. This is definitely somewhere I would book again, so peaceful.
Cosy and atmospheric room. Good bar food. Nice village location
