Pretty much everything and I am quite fussy!
I arrived, parked easy, walked towards hotel door, a lady saw me coming and immediately came and held the door open for me, took me to check in, checked me in and within 1 minute I'm in my room. It really couldn't have been any better.
Room was very nice. More traditional which is nice these days. Couldn't really fault it.
Shower room was nice, clean although a little cold.
Bar area is very cosy, service good. Prices not too bad either for a hotel.
Going out in Sandbach was better than I thought it would be. Nice pub around the corner, the Welles & Cross. Then I tried Kans Chinese which although quiet, was very very good. Try it if you like a nice Chinese.
Slep was good, I noticed it was very quiet but at 06.30 I was woken by chairs being arranged under my room. No biggie as I would be awake by then anyway.
Breakfast started well but in the end I waited 35 minutes before food came. I thought that was a little slow but I was in no hurry and so I see it as a relaxed start to the day.
Check out was easy. I mentioned the breakfast wait and the lady took the breakfast cost off the bill. I said I was happy to pay because the breakfast really was superb (full English) but she insisted. A nice touch.
So summary is, go here because it really is very good.

Good location for wedding venue. Also the layout suited our family especially with a small toddler as she could sleep upstairs away from the noise of the rest of us.

Karen and her husband (sorry forgot name!) were great hosts, very accommodating of our needs and extremely flexible when I was trying to get the cyclists off before my delicious breakfast.
We would definitely return if in the area.
Everything was wonderful. It began with a shy introduction of ginger carrot soup, welcoming smiles, and a comfortable check-in.
The room was so welcoming that I felt instantly at home. Staff were naturally helpful and friendly.. The location was so pretty and relaxing in a leafy village next to a stream. Idyllic setting, walking distance to the village, Viaduct, and other families. There are so many great attractions within a short drive too.
Good size room with a very comfortable large four poster bed. All the staff we dealt with were very friendly and helpful. Although we were at the front of the hotel, road noise was not really a problem. The restaurant was decent and reasonably priced and the bar had a good selection of drinks. Plenty of car parking. Short 15 minute walk into the village where there are a couple of good pubs.
Close to the village, no public transport from hotel to village and due to time of year unable to walk (icy and -1).
Beautiful building and grounds.
Staff extremely peasant and helpful in all areas.
Quiet time of season so the restaurant was not available
on our first night. Large bar area and relaxing atmosphere.
Lovely walks in the area plenty of places to eat and drink.
We booked a one night stay to catch up with family who lived in the village nearby - we had an evening meal for four people and both the service from the staff and the quality of the food could not be faulted - they went above and beyond to be fair seating us in the outdoor area with outside heaters and overall we had a great evening.
