What wonderful hosts!  I highly recommend Mended Drum. Should you to stay in the Black Isle area don't miss this opportunity to treat yourself to a delightful experience in Fortrose. Guthrie and Horst are world travelers and we engaged in interesting conversations about Scotland's history and many other topics. Such an interesting and gracious couple who treated us like family rather than guests.  Not only did they provide us with a warm, modern and clean room but also the most comfortable bed we have slept in on our month long trip.  The Mended Drum's beautiful gardens enhance the captivating views of the North Sea sunrises. The adjoining golf course is a plus for you golfers. Wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you Guthrie and Horst!

Both my mother and I thorougly enjoyed our stay with Fiona and Steve at Hillhaven. Our hosts were very friendly and made an effort to make us feel at home and had some great tips for our travels. The room itself was nice and clean, and had plenty of space. The adjacent bathroom was clean en complete. Tip: we got some fish and chips from the local chippy and ate them on the porch of the house. We loved the views.

We loved the property, the facilities, the great water pressure in the shower, the bed was comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked. The living room furniture was quite comfortable, and I recommend making a fire if weather permits. It makes it very cozy. The location was walkable to food, pub, bus, and two bakeries.

The owner, Helen, ist extremely friendly and helpful. Wonderful view to the des Form the very comfortable room, immediately at the beach, lovely breakfast. We saw dolphins and one seal and osprey - big recommendation . Very nice restaurant: Crofters immediately there, wonderful hikes at the des and up a nice river.

The host, Steve, was wonderful. He gave us lots of good ideas of where to visit. He makes all his own preserves, bread and yogurt, and has a wonderful breakfast. We even had a private sitting room.
