The place was clean, in an excellent location for looking around the town, shopping and the train station. We came by train and used this place as a base for travelling to the Lakes District, taking the train around the Cumbrian Coast as well as going to look around Lancaster. The Cupboard provided a wonderful base to complete these activities, as well as looking around Carlisle itself. A bonus was the fact that, not only did the host leave chocolates and wine when we arrived, there was also milk in the fridge for a cup of tea or coffee and washing powder for use in the washing machine. Not many places are that considerate of their guest's needs.

The apartment setting on the Netherby Hall estate is stunning and importantly for me, very dog friendly. Apartment was scrupulously clean on arrival and the amenities are first class. Staff are friendly and welcoming, with special thanks to Geoff. A courtesy shuttle is provided to the Pentonbridge Inn where the food and service are exemplary. A perfect sanctuary over Christmas and I have no hesitation in recommending highly.
