Lovely apartment in a quiet, French village. Lots of free parking opposite. Excellent village bakery a couple of minutes walk away for breakfast. Didn't meet the owner but she provided all the information required to get the key and get into apartment, and very helpful when needed.

A marvellous place to stay while travelling–I will now treat Le Chateau de Philiomel as a desired destination. One is taken away from the motorway and transported to another range of times and experiences. History and culture abounds here and the owner is charming and exudes all this magical place offers in the most refined and unassuming way. The breakfast will make you wish you stayed longer than one night. A visit to the Chateau will add to whatever joys you have during your broader journey. A must now for us.

The bathrooms were equally impressive, offering ample space and modern amenities that added to the overall luxurious feel of our stay. One of our favorite features was the charming courtyard. It was a delightful space to unwind and enjoy some leisure activities, including a game of pétanque. Additionally, the property offers complimentary bike loans, complete with helmets, allowing visitors to explore the beautiful surroundings with ease and convenience. The locally made apple juice, marmalade and honey offered with breakfasts were fantastic and showed a real sense of community within the areas. Overall, this property exceeded all our expectations, thanks in large part to Marie’s outstanding hospitality and the well-maintained facilities. We can't wait to return for another stay and would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a perfect getaway.
