Great host, peaceful rural location next to the Loire. Pool great to dip in after a morning exploring area and chateaux. King room with garden view. Breakfast very good with fresh breads. Happy we chose king size room as we stayed for 10 nights so it gave us more space and a wonderful garden view. Host very amenable and he offered us ham and cheese for breakfast as well as the usual spread.

5 of us stayed at La Douce France for 4 nights and absolutely loved it! The house is really spacious and you can see the effort that has gone into providing everything you could need. The bedrooms and bathrooms are well kept and the pool, garden, bbq area mean you can spend full days there in the sun. The house was clean on arrival and off-street parking is provided. No shops nearby but only a 20min walk to Chinon which has plenty of restaurants and boulangeries, and cycle and canoe hire.

Manfred was an excellent host with a very interesting property. We were invited for homemade aperitif in the cave below the house, a welcome respite from the hot weather. When my daughter discovered once home that she had lost an earring he even searched through the vacuum cleaner bag and found it! She was so grateful. Thank you.
