As we rather like solitude, we were looking for a nice place in a remote suburb of Lyon near the Beaujolais vineyards. What we found at Beatrice's was miles beyond our expectations. The hostess had created the perfect place to relax - first-class mattress, a large enough, well-maintained pool and a beautiful garden - which she filled with warmth, helpfulness, humour and, of course, great cakes from her oven for breakfast.
